Embarrasment at a Traffic Light

About last week or so, I was sitting at a traffic light to make a left turn. The other cars were go when their light turned green, the ones on my left, on my right, on coming traffic, so forth. All I know that is i'm still sitting there and a line of cars were getting longer behind me that were going to turn left as well. So after a couple of cycle, there is a knock on my window. I rolled it down a an inch or two and the dude was like, if you pull up a little more you could probably trigger the light to turn. I'm like, oh I'm sorry, I thought I already was up far enough. Sure as the grass is green, the light turns and everyone is off on there way. I was really embarassed and I know the people behind me was cussing up a storm because I was a goof  because I didn't know I was the cause of the problem. LOL.

My Body Told Me So

And since I didn't listen, my body kicked my butt. Trying to do a load of things, having my plate full and if just the slightest wrong turn could tip it over. Things at home, working, college and other things I have been overdoing it, therefore I had gotten really sick last week. Not sick enough to go to the hospital, but enough that I had to actually lay down and completely rest. I start to feel bad a few hours before class and took what little medicine I had to try to feel a little better. Well I got through my first class ok even though my back was hurting real bad and the office chairs at the computers did not help much and my legs kept feeling like they were falling asleep. Then into my second class, I just started to feel even worse. My whole body began to ache and I had to leave when the instructor gave the class a break. I went to stop by McDonald's to get something since I was hungry and feeling a bit nauseated, then stopped by the gas station nearby to get something to take for my body ache. I had to sit in the parking lot because I was aching so bad. On the way home, the medicine started to work and I just zonked out on the couch and went to sleep, I couldn't make it to the bed.

Today I feel a lot better, even though still have a stuffy nose, but I can deal with that. I haven't learned yet to not push myself hard so much because I had this happen once before, but not this bad. I don't know, I just have a hard head. I think I can try to pace myself, be better organized a little to help with the stress and not have a full plate all the time.

A Vacation Right In My State

I never think to take a vacation right in my state of North Carolina. I know there are quite a few places to go to especially over the summer which I'm finding out now. One place I would like to go to that I never been is try out one ofwilmington nc vacation rentals. It's right near the coast and just a step out to Wilmington's lovely beaches where you can watch the sailboats breeze by. I never thought to just rent out a house to enjoy for the summer and have a little home away from home while enjoying a wonderful vacation. I'm thinking that maybe next summer I could take the family out on a trip like that. That would be a fun family vacation.

When the Kids Are Away

I never know what to do when the kids are not at home. A couple of weekends ago, my dad kept the kids for a day for me while I had a school assignment I needed to do. They stayed overnight with him and for the time that I had by myself, it just felt funny. No kids screaming through the house, fussing and fighting, asking for things, etc. It was just peace and quiet. I did enjoy the time though and actually went to bed about 10pm and that is early for me. My dad enjoyed having the kids since he doesn't get to see them often and they had a good time to. Next time it's going to be my mom's turn to have them and I know she can't wait.. lol. Maybe next time I will have a plan as to what I can do while I'm alone and not having to worry about get back to the house or crunching time to make it back to the kids for something.

If It's Not Ants... It's Mosquitos

Both ants and mosquitos are just a pest over the summer time especially when you are trying to relax in the nice weather, having a cookout, whatever the occasion, one of them are always around if not both. I'm not really bothered by mosquitos much until I go in from the day of being outside and start to scratch, scratch, scratch from where they had bit me at. Ugh. I think that I should take a look at some mosquito traps to see how they work and to see if they can keep them at a minimum. I know mosquitos can be a pest and can also carry things from people to people that can cause health problems and I really don't want that to happen to my family. I'm sure that these mosquito magnets would make summer outside even more enjoyable.

So Proud....

Well the end of the school year is just a couple of days away for Chipmunk and she will be moving on to the first grade =) Yesterday she brought home 3 certificates from her graduation ceremony they had for the kindergarteners and she was really happy to get them. Also, Junior is learning to potty train a little bit. Right now, we are just taking him to the regular toilet as we don't have a potty for him just yet, but he took right to it and knew what to do. It's just for practice, but not really official but so far so good. I'm really proud of all my kids.

If I Could Choose One Appliance

I think I would go for a toaster oven. We had one a few months back, but we didn't have the storage for it and I couldn't really use it because we had even less countertop space which would have been hazardous if the kids would reach up to touch it. I think that you can do a lot of stuff with toaster ovens, other than toast, possibly decent meals for the day. I like to try new things out when I'm cooking or baking including appliances and I think that I would have been able to make all kind of things with a toaster oven, but didn't get a chance to actually use it. When I get another one, I'm going to search around on the internet and find some recipes to try using the appliance and see if it turns out better in a regular oven or a toaster oven.
